Since my previous post highlighted this marsh, I thought I’d share a B&W image made with an old Fuji S2 digital camera. The view is from deep in the marsh looking west toward Mt. Tam across tussocks of Pampas Grass (Cortaderia selloana). Over the course of a couple weeks, I made a series of images in this area last spring. This was one of my favorites.

  1. Stunning. Even lo-res, it’s my new windows wallpaper.

  2. Nice shot, no matter how many wonderful digital cameras come on the market, black and white still has that something.I thought this shot was from Japan it looked like a place I had traveled to a couple of years ago.I still have an old Fuji film camera.

  4. john/ thanks!! your site is pretty cool. i hope to do some riding in tucson this winter since i have family there.

llewellyn/ i wish it wasn’t so, but the pic is digital, converted to b/w in PS. the fuji S2 cost $2500+ not too long ago. i picked one up recently for $200. it’s a great landscape camera and accepts nikon film lenses. i developed b/w film in grad school, but not in more than 10 years. (p.s. i dream of a japan trip).

jeff/ interesting stuff. and thanks so much for the kind words!
