ABOUT the BLOG
Why the Friday Cyclotouriste?
Well…when I first started the blog my work schedule effectively made Thursday and Friday my week-end. Thursdays were for catching up on things like grocery shopping, laundry, and sleep. So that left Friday as the perfect day for a ride. This work schedule is no more, but the name stuck.
The blog is partly a ploy to make sure I get out on the bicycle as often as possible. Beyond that the idea is to share lots of photographs of places and things I discover on my rides and to ladle in occasional observations about bicycle gear, cyclotourism, and bike culture.
Should you want to explore any of this terrain on your own, I also try to include other practical stuff (including lots of maps). I sometimes post off-topic or somewhat random images and musings, but try not to do this too frequently.
There is also a geotag icon below most photographs on the site. It looks like this:
Click on these links to see the location of the photograph on a google map (where you can zoom in or out, look and move around).
The photos and map locations can also be seen on the blog’s Global Map, which is accessed from one of the tabs that run across the top of the site and from the globe in the sidebar.
Thanks so much for stopping by The Friday Cyclotouriste!
I hope you enjoy the site.
Have you written a post about your camera setup? I’d really like to learn more about what you are using, and your technique, as your photos are beautiful!

Hey Nathan,
I hope all is well.
Is there a way to sign up for your blog–get email notices when you’ve posted?

Hi Gayan! That’s a good question. You can just add it to your RSS feed, but if you’re like me you’re probably not sure what that means. I don’t think there’s a subscribe button or anything like that…but I’ll look into that. Anyhow, thanks for visiting and your interest.

I enjoyed visiting your blog. Cool info, well organised, and easy to navigate. I was however hoping that your “Friday” title would have some connection to Bike Friday which I’m a huge fan of. When you’re next looking to add to your “Stable” as you call it or “Bicycle Museum” as my friend Eddie Gough called his collection, do look into the Bike Fridays. They are awesome! Cheers and Happy Hols!
